FleetMaster has a fast-track strategic growth plan over the next 0 to 24 months and as such the HR / people agenda is a key priority. We are therefore, seeking an experienced HR generalist with strong recruitment experience, as recruitment and talent management will be the main focus for this role initially.

This role will support the FleetMaster team based in Ghent, Belgium with the reporting line into the International HR Team, within an enterprise matrix structure. The People Solutions / HR function defines and delivers the HR & People strategies which underpins the people strategy across the organisation.

As a part of the wider HR team, the HR manager will support FleetMaster in driving the People agenda, specifically recruitment and HR strategy by providing proactive support and advice within all aspects of HR, utilising HR models, tools, policies, procedures and best practice. They will provide a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures and support line managers or employees on employment interpretation or application.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Provide ongoing support on ER matters to line managers by advising on employment legislation, policies and procedures, assisting in all necessary meetings and providing tailored solutions
  • Provide advice, guidance and recommendation in regard to absence management within your business areas both short-term and long-term cases
  • Provide support and guidance on disciplinary and grievance issues in line with company policies
  • Support line managers in effectively managing and enhancing team member performance
  • Support line managers in the consideration of flexible working requests and arrangements in line with the company policy
  • Identifies whether escalation to a more qualified team member is appropriate, dependent upon the ER case / issue raised.

Internal Relationship Management

  • Builds and develops effective and efficient relationships with the business and the HR function.
  • Proactively encourages the team members to use the intranet / resources as a source on HR policy and guidelines
  • Identifies managers who require greater skills training to mitigate future risk or escalation of issues
  • Contributes to ensuring a seamless delivery of HR services to the business providing constructive challenge and questioning approach.
  • Works as a team member, sharing ideas and coaching other HR team members to ensure a consistent application and interpretation of policies
  • Champions customer service at the forefront of every interaction.

Team Member Employee Engagement

  • Share knowledge and information on our engagement surveys and process to both line managers and team members
  • Drive team member engagement through effective action planning and delivery based on local engagement data and team member feedback
  • Supports the launch of HR Initiatives and policies providing a reference point for team members

Resourcing and Recruitment

  • Identify current and future resourcing requirements within your business area to ensure effective resource planning
  • Support ongoing recruitment to attract future talent, driving local plans and activity including high volume recruitment campaigns
  • Provide support on effective induction processes and team member onboarding to ensure retention and gain valuable feedback on the candidate experience
  • Build the new FleetMaster employee brand and promotes the relationship for attraction and as the Employee Value Proposition

Talent Management

  • Facilitate talent assessment process and reviews with the respective management teams to identify top talent and high potential team members
  • Support on effective succession planning based on talent assessment data and analysis
  • Support on effective team member development plans and activity

HR Projects and Implementation

  • Assist the implementation and embedding of all HR and change initiatives within the business area
  • Lead or support on a minimum of two HR projects and deliverables in line with strategic HR plan
  • Where possible, ensure local HR initiatives within business area are aligned to the wider HR strategy

HR Service & Delivery

  • Ensure all Leaders & Managers are adhering to policies and procedures and support continuous improvement and updates of HR policies, procedures and guidance in line with current legislation and best practice
  • Provide timely MI for business areas with analysis of trends weekly / monthly and utilises this to proactively focus on value added support to managers with regard to their people issues i.e. sickness absence / early grievance intervention / attrition
  • Support the Leaders to understand and achieve HR MI targets including effective management of absence and turnover and creating effective interventions where necessary
  • Provide reward advise and support team members in understanding and accessing company benefits in line with the internal grading structure
  • Escalation of potential high-risk cases to more senior team members for action / resolution

Self - Development

  • Drives own development to ensure maximum value is added to the HR team
  • Keeps abreast of latest changes and updates in employment law and policies and will be expected to have a broad understanding of changes influencing legislation
  • Shares experiences and knowledge in team meetings, learning sessions and other events
Profile
  • Proven track record as a HR Generalist
  • Strong volume recruitment experience
  • Talent pipeline management
  • Ability to analyse MI or HR Data
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels within a diverse employee population
  • Confident in presentation
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Strong Employee Relations background
  • Up to date Employment Law knowledge in local market
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple work streams / case loads
  • Able to work collaboratively with the wider HR team

You must ensure that you are aware of, understand and comply with the FleetMaster Information Security Policies including any specific sections relating to your own personal / role responsibilities.
You have a duty to comply with all elements of the Information Security and associated policies. You also have a duty to identify any training needs that you may require and report these to your line manager.
You must ensure that you are fully trained for any task that you are asked to do, and this training must be completed before completing that task.
You must report any actual or suspected security breaches to your line manager or Business Assurance immediately.
